The first annual Spring Hill Velo/Cockonabike Productions Bike Ride took place in Gaston, Oregon June 19,2010. By all accounts, it was a huge success. Many comments by riders indicated a strong desire to participate next year.
Organized by Robin Suskind and Jetta Smith, the event took place from Friday (June 18th) evening well into Sunday (June 20th) morning ending with country style bisquits and gravy around the breakfast table. Seventeen riders toured from the starting point, the farm, to Hagg Lake and back to consume gourmet lunch provided by Jetta and Lindsay. After a brief rest, they were off on the final leg which had its' rest stop on top of Bald Peak overlooking an incredible valley. Zooming down the western decent of Bald Peak at speeds of up to 34 miles and hour, the bike tour ending at the finish line with cheers,balloons and the lovely recovery drink, cold chocolate milk. Mmmm, good !
